400 Sanitary Kits for Kanya Mandir Secondary School
Today’s reusable sanitary pad distribution was at the Kanya Mandir Secondary School in Thamel, Kathmandu. We gave free sanitary kits to 400 adolescent girls and talked about the advantages of using the eco-friendly pads. The school of 700 students is only for girls, from various communities within Nepal. The old school building was badly damaged during the earthquake in 2015 but last week they finally moved into new buildings (funded by US AID) when the government permitted in-class lessons again. Many of the children haven’t had access to any kind of device to access online classes since schools closed, so it was nice to see them learning again and laughing with friends.
