93 Attend Well-Woman Health Camp

The Support Centre was bursting to the brim this weekend! Ninety-three ladies attended our Well-Woman Health Camp and, with it being a Saturday, there were lots of small children in tow. Nobody seemed to really mind the wait though. Mums sat chatting in the sunny activity room, enjoying their tea and samosas and the children made a beeline for the toy shelves.

Working in partnership with Nahuda and Sparsh, who provide excellent medical services, each participant, ranging in age from seven to forty-plus, had a consultation with the gynaecologist, VIA screening (for cancer), HIV screening, a breast check and a glucose and urine check. They will be receiving their free medication today and referrals have been made for those who require further screening. We were able to offer this important medical help for less than US$9 per person.
