Children’s Clinic

Yesterday we held a Children’s Clinic at our Support Centre in Samakhusi Chowk, Kathmandu. Doctor Monaj Shrestha, kindly volunteered time on his day off to run the clinic and then give a very interesting talk to the mothers on ‘Nutrition, Burns and Choking’.

We’d pre-selected twenty children to attend, knowing their Mothers had health concerns about them. They were very grateful for the opportunity of a free, one on one consultation with a Senior Consultant in Paediatrics, and also for the free, prescribed medicines, which WONDERWorks supported.

Nobody was bored throughout the three hours because we’d set up a Playdough table for the children, in addition to the usual toys that are available in the activity room. We also provided a lunch of vegetable Momos for both the mothers and children, to ensure nobody was hungry.

As a small way of thanking Dr Shrestha, the WONDERWorks Team presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation and some of the children gave him a picture they had drawn especially for him. Dr Shrestha has offered to help with future clinics at our centre, for which we are so grateful.
