Congratulations To Our Tailoring Course Graduates

Everyone at WONDERWorks was feeling very proud yesterday as our tailoring graduates celebrated six months of dedication and hard work. All ten students successfully completed the Basic and Advanced course, with some receiving extra recognition for ability and tenacity. Over the past months close friendships have been formed so the end of the course was bitter-sweet for some and there were a few emotional moments during the speeches. There was a lot of giggling as they modelled some of the stunning outfits they’ve made throughout the course. This gave the ten new students, who started our tailoring course on Monday, an opportunity to see what they will be learning to make, once they fully master the sewing machines.

Since training started at our Support Centre in 2016, thirty-four ladies have qualified as tailors. Many are now running successful tailoring businesses and others are using their skills to gain jobs in garment factories and existing tailoring shops. Some are supporting their families by making our dressing gowns and sanitary pads.
