Food and Hygiene Packages

It’s been all systems go for WONDERWorks this week, with everyone pitching in to help pack food and hygiene packages.  After all the items had been delivered the Support Centre resembled a warehouse but we soon got organised – sacks of rice were lined up along the corridors and bags filled every room.

With rumours of a third wave and the possibility of Kathmandu going into lockdown again in the near future, we’re doing our best to get the supplies out as quickly as possible. With Covid-19 safety precautions in place, we’ve distributed a total of 150 packages over the past two days, with each person receiving 25 kilos of rice, plus other basic food staples and necessary hygiene items.

The centre isn’t big enough to handle more than 150 packages at one time, so next week we’ll be starting all over again. Thanks to the kindness of generous donors, we’ll be giving 400 packages in total. As entertainment establishments remain closed, we hope that they will make it a little easier for the women to provide for their families.
