Cushion Making Classes

This week we’ve started a beginners class for Cushion Making, which is held every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. The cushions are made by hand and a number of different designs will be taught over the next few weeks. Each cushion takes about 90 minutes for an experienced person to make and about 5 hours for those new to the process. The cost to make one cushion is about NPR150. WONDERWorks is providing the tuition free of charge but the ladies buy their own materials. We feel that the time and money invested in learning to make the cushions is well worthwhile. The results are stunning and, as they’re very popular in Nepal, can be sold for around NPR500.
