Design Class Graduates

After completing the Basic and Advanced Tailoring Course in November last year, seven students have been coming into our centre three afternoons a week for the past three months to take our Design Course. The items covered in the course include a party gown, an ornate bodice, a lengha, an umbrella skirt, a party kurtha, a chaubandi kurtha (side opening with piping) and a suruwal (fancy trousers). Today was graduation day and as their teacher, Kumari Gurung, looked on proudly, they showed us their creations. It seemed hard to believe that they were just starting out nine months ago, learning how to thread and use a machine. We wish them all the very best for a successful future in tailoring
