Happy Teej

Things have been quiet over the monsoon but with Teej just around the corner it was time to celebrate. And celebrate we certainly did – all ninety three of us!!!

The ladies went all out for the occasion, looking like Bollywood stars in their colourful outfits and jewellery. It was such a pleasure to watch as they helped each other adjust sari’s and fix hair, everyone looked their best for the many photos that were taken throughout the day. Mehendi was available for anyone who wanted to get their hands decorated, with each getting a different design. Happy Teej music played throughout the day and the dance floor was only empty when we stopped to eat lunch. The noise level reassured us that everyone was having fun!

It was wonderful to see so many old friends and also to welcome more than thirty new friends to our centre. It was also heartwarming to see people looking after each other, making sure that everyone had what they needed, as well as pitching in to help. Sisterhood at it’s best!
