International Women’s Day

It’s International Women’s Day and the perfect day to restart our programs!  It’s been a whole year since we had to close the Support Centre for the nationwide lockdown but now we’re finally back on track – with safety protocols in place of course.

Previously we’ve marked this important day by organising a Blood Donation Program at our centre.  Sadly, due to health risks, that hasn’t been possible this year, so we felt especially touched when some of our WONDERWorks family volunteered to give up part of their holiday today, to donate at the Nepal Red Cross Bank, in Jamal.

Nepal has had a hard time with the coronavirus, particularly during the second half of 2020.  There’s been about 275,000 cases and more than 3,000 deaths but happily the number of daily recorded cases has been dropping recently. With the situation much improved and the vaccination process already underway in Nepal, we’re feeling optimistic and plans are in place to get projects underway again.
