New Village Tailoring Business
It brought a smile to our faces to such excitement on the face of our latest business recipient, as she painstakingly chose all her equipment last Thursday.
She carefully tried out the sewing and overlock machines and then spent a lot of time choosing the colour of her tables before filling a box with different coloured thread. It was a lengthy process but we didn’t mind – after all, this was a day she’d waited for, for a long time. She completed her tailoring course back in October last year, but sensibly waited to finish her school year before setting up.
This weekend she will head to her childhood village, far from Kathmandu, to set up as a village tailor. Having come to know her so well it’s been hard to say goodbye, but her obvious happiness has made it much easier. We wish her all the very best as she starts out on her new life.
