Our Tailoring Students Graduate!

Maxine and Chulie have just come back from a hectic but productive trip to Kathmandu, which coincided with the graduation of the first batch of tailors from our Basic Tailoring Course.  Five very happy ladies will now immediately progress to our Advanced Tailoring Course, which will provide the necessary skills to set up in a tailoring business.

The graduates came along to the Gongabu Drop In Centre on Thursday to receive their well-deserved certificates, model some of the items they’ve made and talk to potential candidates for the next course.  There was a good turnout and we have a long list of hopeful applicants!

We’re delighted that pledges have been made for four of the five sewing machines we need to get these deserving ladies set up in a home tailoring business. A machine and table costs US$200.  If anyone is interested in helping to fund the last machine, please let us know.  We’d be so grateful.
