Sanitary Pad Distribution in Lamjung

Forty girls at the Suryodaya Basic School, in Ghamrang Village, in Lamjung, received our sanitary kits this weekend. Our Management Committee Member, Yadav Raj Gurung, kindly organised the distribution and personally delivered the kits to the school. Here is what he had to say about it –

” I briefed them about the WonderWorks activities and everyone was so happy with the kits. They all admired the work WonderWorks is doing and sent their Big Thank You for such a very needed and useful gift. While at the distribution, I asked for the help of the Health staff, from the local health post. Her name is Dil Maya Gurung and on the occasion she explained about its uses and other health related issues. Also she read out the washing techniques of the pads and told the children to follow the washing instructions. At first, the children were a little bit shy but just after the distribution they all opened up and wanted to take pictures with me, so we took group pictures together. Two students were absent so the school will hand them the kits later.”
