Thank You Zac!
When Zac Connell took on the ‘Year Six Challenge’ during his last year at primary school, he decided to do something that would really make a difference!
Firstly he put up posters at his school (in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and then sent out appeals to family and friends, with a goal to complete a ten kilometer sponsored run to help a needy community. Setting out early one morning in May, accompanied by his father and a friend, Zac ran all the way from Seputeh to Merdeka Square and then back again – adding an extra loop to be sure he’d achieved his goal! It took him one hour and thirteen minutes!
Knowing that 25,000 schools had been destroyed in the two earthquakes that had recently hit Nepal, it didn’t take the determined eleven year old long to decide how he wanted to help.
Zac has kindly passed on the hard earned proceeds (approximately US$270) to WONDERWorks, who will ensure that it goes directly towards the rebuilding of schools in Nepal. With thousands of children across the country still out of school and therefore vulnerable to trafficking, WONDERWorks continues to support the rebuild.
Zac, you’re a star! Thank you SO much for your wonderful effort!
