WonderWORKS Sponsors Barista Training

Two young school leavers have begun Barista Training at the Himalayan Java Coffee school in Kathmandu. The course (which is 70% practical) involves 50 hours of training at the centre, followed by a further 50 hours of internship at HJC outlets. The ten day course offers successful students a recognised barista certificate and a letter of recommendation, putting our students in a good position to find work when they’ve finished the course.

The students had been due to start their training earlier but the course was postponed due to earthquake damage to the mall where the school and coffee shop had been located. The school has now moved – and the girls are happy to have finally got started!

This is a brand new project for WONDERWorks and the team is as excited as the students!
